Music can stir up a multitude of different emotions, images, and colors that can inspire any artist to create a
masterpiece…or we’re hoping in this case, a sweet doodle. We here at Draw have a mission for all of you out
there looking to participate in this next theme. We want you to sit down, pick out your favorite tune that either
inspires you, gets you pumped, has the lyrics that speak to you, mellows you out, or just makes you want to
dance, and then we want you to follow these directions:

1. Chill out wherever you feel like it, or wherever you happen to be at the moment. It could be in class, the park,
your room, a meeting, work, the bathroom…wherever. You just need to be in a place where you can listen to
your song of choice.

2. Hold your drawing utensil (preferably pen or pencil) in your drawing hand with your paper(s) to draw on in front of you.

3. If you need to get in the mood, play through your song once, twice, or however many times you think is needed.

4. In the mood yet? Alright, now it’s time to doodle to your favorite song. Don’t be afraid to draw whatever the song
brings up for you, whether it makes sense or not. If lyrics are what come to mind, jot them down too. Shapes,
patterns, words, letters, scribble…whatever you want is okay because it’s what the song brings to you.

*However, if at all possible, please leave out the artist of the song's name from the front of the paper.*

5. Now you're done! Please let us know the name of the song or the artist by just jotting it down on the back of the
paper along with your name. If you have a difficult time choosing a favorite song, grab another sheet of paper and
repeat 1-5 for the next song.

One more thing: we need a release form filled out from you! Visit our Submit Art page, print out the form, fill it out,
and on that same page is information on where to mail in your artwork.

*We know there are many different ways to define a word and here at Draw we want to make sure everyone knows what
we mean by "makeshift." Though we know that makeshift means sufficient for the time being, or a temporary substitute,
to us it means unrefined and something done by hand. We want you to take the all crazy ideas, thoughts, and images that
pop into your head while you listen to whatever song you choose—whatever is available to you—and we want you to combine
them into a drawing to submit to us.
